Authorization Certificate and Product Differentiation Requirement in Jewelry Trade
20 August 2026 11:02 · 24 viewsAccording to the announcement received by our Chamber from the Malatya Provincial Directorate of Trade, gold trade activities can only be conducted by businesses holding an authorization certificate.
As per the legislation, precious stone products produced in laboratory environments or created through human intervention must be clearly labeled with at least one of the terms "synthetic," "laboratory-grown," "artificial production," or similar expressions approved by the Ministry. This labeling must be prominently displayed on tags, product certificates, invoices, web pages, advertisements, and promotional materials in a manner easily visible to consumers.
Additionally, these products and natural precious stones must be displayed in separate sections in showcases and sales areas, and in separate categories online. Ensuring this distinction is made clearly to avoid misleading consumers is of utmost importance.
To prevent any disruptions in implementation and avoid potential grievances, our registered members are urgently required to apply for an authorization certificate via https://ktbs.ticaret.gov.tr. It has been stated that administrative sanctions may be imposed for non-compliance with the regulatory provisions.
