Building Research Center Expectation and Needs Assessment

Dear Members,

Under the "Construction, Engineering-Architecture, Technical Consultancy, and Contracting Services" section of the Twelfth Development Plan, the following actions are included: "Innovation and R&D activities in the construction sector will be encouraged in line with national priorities and needs, and tools will be developed to increase academic contributions to R&D activities." and "Programs will be established for R&D activities aimed at developing technical regulations." The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Directorate General of Professional Services, has initiated a study on technological, innovative, and R&D activities in the construction materials sector. Within the scope of this study, the establishment of a "Building Research Center" with private sector participation is planned. The center aims to develop technological, innovative, and advanced products, commercialize developed products for global markets, and support sustainable construction in the sector.

Additionally, the objectives include training qualified personnel, fostering academia-industry collaborations, and implementing digitalization and automation solutions in the construction sector. As part of this study, it has been decided to identify sectoral expectations and needs. If the center is established, it will determine the specific product, personnel, equipment, and other requirements of the construction sector in various fields. In this context, it is crucial for your members to complete the attached Excel form and submit it to our Union (mustafa.findikoglu@tobb.org.tr) by 06/10/2025 for transmission to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Directorate General of Professional Services.
