Problems Faced by TIR Drivers in Romania and Solution Methods

9 October 2026 16:01  ·  25 views

The Ministry of Trade, Directorate General for International Agreements and the European Union, has shared important information with our Chamber regarding the problems faced by our TIR drivers in Romania.

Accordingly, upon complaints from our TIR drivers who have suffered grievances such as bribery demands and unjust penalty practices by Romanian police, the issue has been brought to the attention of the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In a letter conveyed to our Embassy in Bucharest by the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Directorate General for Anti-Corruption, it has been pledged that all types of cases will be evaluated. Our drivers who have experienced grievances may contact the Anti-Corruption Call Center, which operates 24/7, at 0 800 806 806 or via email at relint.dga@mai.gov.ro.

It is of great importance to communicate these contact details to our members operating in the transportation sector. You may find detailed information on the subject in the attached document.
