On the Use of TIR Carnets in Transit Transport via Syria.

Dear Members,

In the notification made to our Union by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) regarding the use of TIR Carnets for transit transportations conducted via Syria; it is stated that Syria became a party to the TIR Convention in 1999, the TIR System is currently implemented in Syria, and TIR Carnets are accepted by Syrian customs authorities within the framework of the Convention provisions. In this context, it is indicated that transportations to successive countries, including Gulf countries, via transit through Syria can be carried out under the TIR System.

On the other hand, transit transportations via Syria are currently being conducted, and the said transportations are being completed without any issues.
