Regarding the Use of TIR Carnets in Transit Transportations via Syria

Dear Members,

In the notification made to our Union by the International Road Transport Union (IRU) regarding the use of TIR Carnets for transit transport operations conducted via Syria; it is stated that Syria became a party to the TIR Convention in 1999, the TIR System is currently implemented in Syria, and TIR Carnets are accepted by Syrian customs authorities within the framework of the Convention provisions. In this context, it is indicated that transport operations to successive countries, including Gulf countries, via transit through Syria can be carried out under the TIR System.

On the other hand, transit transport operations via Syria are currently being conducted, and these operations are being completed without any issues.
