Republic of Korea / e-Apostille Procedures

In the Note attached to the reference letter enclosed with the Ministry of Interior's correspondence dated 17/12/2025 and numbered 121325, it is stated that the Government of the Republic of Korea has been providing electronic Apostille services through its official website (https://apostille.go.kr) since 30 November 2016. This service enables the issuance of Apostilles in digital format, and electronic Apostilles issued through this platform hold the same legal validity as physical Apostilles under the "Apostille Convention." The service also facilitates the verification of the authenticity of both the Apostille and the related official document. A sample Apostille is attached for reference, and it is requested that the relevant institutions be informed accordingly. The Note further states that any inquiries regarding the issuance of Apostilles, verification methods, or details about the Apostille sample may be directed to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul, and contact information is provided.
