EES/ETIAS Information

Our Union closely monitors developments regarding road transport in our country. Below is a summary of the latest announcements by the European Commission concerning the Entry/Exit System (EES) and the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS), developed by the European Union to digitalize and enhance the security of border crossing procedures in line with relevant international regulations. The new EES system will enter into force on 12 October 2025 and will be implemented gradually at the external borders of European countries. The data collection process will be initiated in phases, with full implementation completed by 10 April 2026. The ETIAS system will become operational in the last quarter of 2026. At this stage, travelers are not expected to take any action. The European Union will announce the exact start date of ETIAS a few months prior to implementation. This booklet contains important information on the implementation process of the EES system, new biometric data registrations (fingerprints, facial images) required at border crossings, and travel planning.
