President Sadıkoğlu delivered a speech at ASRİAD's General Assembly.
18 August 2025 09:00 · 5 viewsOur Board Chairman, Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu, attended the Ordinary General Assembly of the Asrın İş İnsanları Derneği (ASRİAD) Malatya Branch.
Speaking at the general assembly, which was also attended by ASRİAD President İbrahim Cemil Yıldız, Chairman Sadıkoğlu stated, "Our city experienced major earthquakes on February 6, 2023. The tradespeople, merchants, and industrialists of this city suffered great losses. We must heal these wounds together, in unity. As civil society organizations, we have such a responsibility. Along with our responsibilities, we also face challenges. Even now, 4,000 of our businesses are struggling to survive in 21-square-meter containers. We are facing a skilled labor shortage across our city, particularly in our OSB. We have experienced significant migration, and it continues. In our 1st and 2nd OSBs, the workforce, which was 42,000 before the earthquake, has now dropped to 30,000. This situation is reducing both our production capacity and exports. Our exports, which stood at $450 million before the earthquake, have declined by $25 million over two years. On top of that, we faced an agricultural frost disaster, yet we remain hopeful. Through TOKİ, earthquake housing is rapidly being constructed. Just as physical reconstruction is essential, we must also recover economically. Our country and the global market know us as the apricot production hub. Now, we aim to be recognized not only for apricots but also for planned industrial investments, resilient production infrastructure, and a strong trade vision. We are confident that everyone here will contribute to this goal. Once again, I wish the ASRİAD Malatya Branch General Assembly success. I extend my congratulations to President Aziz Özel and the incoming board for their future endeavors."
