EU Export Restrictions on Aluminum Exports

Attached is the official letter titled "Export Restrictions on Aluminum Exports to the EU" forwarded to our Chamber by the Ministry of Trade, Directorate General for International Agreements and European Union. The letter briefly states that under the EU Waste Shipment Regulation, the export of scrap metal to third countries is expected to be restricted as of May 2027, and a monitoring system was put into operation on July 23, 2025, to track trade data related to scrap metal, aluminum, and copper. The letter further provides details regarding the recommendation letter submitted to the Commission by Europe Aluminium, an EU-based organization.
